Research Interests

Research interests include turbulent spray combustion at atmospheric and high pressures. In addition, it includes understanding the physics of thermocoustic instabilities in a backward facing step, bluff body combustors and its interactions with hydrodynamic oscillations with focus on intermittent oscillations aimed at its control. Measurements based on Laser based diagnostics such as 2C-, 3C- and time resolved PIV, PLIF, LII and LDV/PDPA of the reacting and non-reacting flows. Application of spatio-temporal data processing tools such as Proper orthogonal decomposition (POD) and dynamic mode decomposition methods (DMD), Lagrangian Coherent structures (LCS) to the spatio-temporal data, linear/non-linear signal analysis and dynamical system based time series analysis.
