Prof. Al-Juaied has 25 years’ experience in R&D, technology development, commercialization, and project management. Currently, he serves as Senior Research Science Consultant for the Aramco Research Center at KAUST. He is also a Non-resident Fellow with the Harvard Belfer Center's Environment and Natural Resources Program and Science, Technology, and Public Policy Program.
Before joining the CCRC research team, he served as Chief Technologist of Carbon Management R&D Division at the Dhahran research center, where he led an R&D flagship program consisting of stationary and mobile CO2 capture, CO2 utilization, oil-to-hydrogen and solar energy.
Prof. Al-Juaied also served as Chief Technology Officer of Aramco Energy Ventures where he was responsible for identifying, evaluating and making investment recommendations for emerging energy technologies including Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage (CCUS). He is a Company representative in the Oil & Gas Climate Initiative CCUS work stream.
He has served as committee member to many government and international organizations on initiatives on CCUS, and as advisor to the Ministry of Energy during the G20 (Saudi Arabia) and provided technical support which led to the establishment of the Circular Carbon Economy – National Program.
Prof. Al-Juaied also served as a Visiting Scholar at Harvard’s Belfer Center for the Energy Technology Innovation Policy Research group and focused on the economics and policies of CCUS.
