Research Interests

As a Research Scientist in Professor Im’s computational reacting flow laboratory (CRFL), I focus is on understanding the mechanisms of pre-ignition, deflagration, and detonation in combustion devices such as IC engines, shock tubes, and rapid compression machines (RCM) under extreme high-load operating conditions. Mining rich-hidden information from big DNS datasets allows developing a reliable predictive model and extending the regime diagram for real-world industrial applications. Partially, I also contribute to developing KAUST Adaptive Reacting Flow Solvers (KARFS) to prepare for the next generation of high-fidelity and high-performance DNS in the exascale era to fully utilize the heterogeneous architecture supercomputers.
