Research Interests

My name is Holkan, I'm 25 years old. I am from Zacatecas, Mexico. My academic advisor is Dr. Mani Sarathy, I have a huge interest in working with him due to the sustainability lens he gives to combustion technologies and fossil fuels. I really would like to assess the environmental impacts of innovations within the CCRC group (fuels). Quantifying these impacts will help discover its consequences and promote their use in society. I did my Master's thesis about a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) of a binary cycle geothermal power plant in Mexico. Having a research "dive" into renewable energies is somehow fascinating. I have entered this fall semester (2021), arriving at KAUST on September 2nd. I joined KAUST as a Ph.D. student in Environmental Sciences and Engineering. My personal hobbies are: to work out (especially crossfit), to travel, and to meet people. I hope to meet you soon and really looking forward to be a part of the KAUST community.
