Research Interests

My research interest is focalized around energy related subjects. I have specifically interest on fossil fuel energy as well as other energy sources such as solar energy. Currently, as part of the Clean Combustion Research Center at KAUST, my research primarily spins around the ultimate question of how to make fuel combustion a cleaner, safer and more efficient energy source. In the Chemical Kinetics and Laser Sensors Laboratory at KAUST, we try to advance our understanding of the basic combustion properties and kinetics routes of fuels in order to boost our capability to understand and control the way fuels actually burn. Inter alia, I do direct experimental measurements of important elementary reaction rates using shock tube facility and various Laser diagnostic systems.
