Congratulations Nimal Naser on receiving the NREL Director's Award for Exceptional Performance for the year 2021!

The National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) is one among 17 national laboratories of the U.S. Department of Energy, which is operated by the Alliance for Sustainable Energy. The NREL Director's Award is one-time exceptional achievement award presented to NREL personnel every fiscal year.

Nimal was a Ph.D. Student under the guidance of Prof. Mani Sarathy, Associate Director of Clean Combustion Research Center and Prof. Suk Ho Chung, Professor Emeritus.

At the moment, Nimal Naser is a post-doctoral researcher at the Center for Integrated Mobility Sciences (CIMS), National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL). Nimal's work at NREL focuses on the global drive for increased transportation efficiency by decarbonizing transport across the heavy-duty vehicle, marine, and aviation sectors by developing transformative and scalable energy technologies.

"We are very proud of Nimal’s achievement at NREL. While at CCRC, Nimal demonstrated research excellence through his experimental and numerical studies on fuel autoignition. We are confident that Nimal will continue doing outstanding work, and, in doing so, bring attention to the quality of CCRC’s alumni." said Prof. Mani Sarathy.
