Congratulations Dr. Samah Mohamed on becoming the first female Ph.D. graduate from the Clean Combustion Research Center!
Dr. Samah completed her M.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Nottingham, the United Kingdom in 2012 and worked as a lecturer in the University of Khartoum, Sudan before joining KAUST for Ph.D. in 2014.
She was a part of the Combustion and Pyrolysis Chemistry (CPC) Group and supervised by Prof. Mani Sarathy. She has authored 3 papers and co-authored more than 12 research papers under his guidance. Her research interests are in chemical kinetic modeling and quantum chemistry calculations.
"Dr. Samah demonstrated excellent research and intellectual capabilities during her Ph.D. at the Clean Combustion Research Center, KAUST. She quickly learned the state-of-the-art in chemical kinetic modeling, and then developed her skills in computational chemistry to advance the field. Her contributions on the kinetics of low-temperature oxidation reactions will be useful for combustion and atmospheric chemists." commented Prof. Mani Sarathy, her supervisor and Associate Director of CCRC.
Dr. Samah plans to continue her career in academia and research in combustion or any other discipline using the computational chemistry skills she learned at KAUST.
