Biography

Dr. Jeffrey Goldmeer is an Emergent Technologies Director at GE Gas Power where he is responsible for developing and executing strategies for the decarbonization of gas turbine-based power plants. Dr. Goldmeer’s primary focus is on the use of low and zero carbon fuels supporting the company’s vision of accelerating decarbonization with gas turbine technology.  He is also co-creator and co-host of GE’s award-winning decarbonization podcast, Cutting Carbon.

Dr. Goldmeer is a global expert on combustion and the use of alternative fuels for power generation. He brings more than 20 years of experience in the energy industry; prior to his current role, Dr. Goldmeer was the Director of Gas Turbine Fuel & Combustion Solutions for GE Gas Power, and before that he was the Manager of the Combustion Lab at GE’s Global Research Center. Notable achievements include commercial operation of Aero, F, and HA-class gas turbines operating on blends of hydrogen and natural gas.  His 2014 paper on the use of Arabian Super Light crude oil as a power generation fuel for F-class gas turbines in Saudi Arabia was recognized with the best paper award at PowerGen International.  Prior to joining GE, Dr. Goldmeer was a Senior Research Scientist at Southwest Sciences, and a National Research Council Research Associate at the NASA Glenn Research Center.  He holds 13 patents on a variety of combustion and propulsion related technologies.

Dr. Goldmeer received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Case Western Reserve University and his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
