Biography

Dr. Lee achieved his PhD in electrochemical engineering at the Columbia University and has accumulated more than 30 years of experience in the fuel cell industry in the US and Korea. At FuelCell Energy, US, Dr. Lee participated in the commercialization of 250kW and MW-scale MCFC. After returning to Korea, as head of the Center for Chemical Engineering at Doosan Heavy Industries, he managed the development of hybrid processes for fuel cell desalination and fuel cell-carbon capture. Moving to POSCO Energy, Dr. Lee served as a CTO of the company and managed the commercialization of SOFC while establishing the field operation of MCFC products of 170MW in Korea.

In 2018, Dr. Lee founded Fuel Cell Innovations (FCI), the JV between Saudi and Korea. Currently, as the CEO of FCI, Dr. Lee commercializes SOFC and SOE products for various applications. Dr. Lee published more than 120 patents and presented at numerous international venues.
