Biography

Dr Abdelrahman (Abdo) Hegab is an Assistant Professor, Lecturer in Gas Turbines at the School of Aerospace, Transport and Manufacturing – Cranfield University. He is the MSc Course Director at the Centre for Propulsion and Thermal Power Engineering, and a member of the Low Emissions Technologies and Combustion Group at the Centre.

Dr Hegab has a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Nottingham, with fifteen years of experience in IC engines, fuels and powertrain research. Prior to joining Cranfield University, Dr Hegab taught “Vehicle Design and Performance” at Brunel University London, and “Advanced Propulsion Systems” at the University of Nottingham. Over the past decade, he has been working closely with lead companies in Energy, Power and Automotive sectors on several research projects funded by the UK Government, in close collaboration with leading industrial partners (e.g. Rolls-Royce, Shell, Caterpillar, Perkins, MAHLE) and top UK Universities.
