Ekenechukwu C. Okafor

Associate Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Kyushu University, Japan

Biography

Dr. Okafor obtained a from Ph.D in engineering from Kyushu University in 2015 under the supervision of Prof. Toshiaki Kitagawa. He thereafter worked at Tohoku University as a postdoctoral fellow under Prof. Hideaki Kobayashi where he started his studies on ammonia combustion. Few years later he joined the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) as a researcher. In January 2022, Dr. Okafor joined the faculty at Kyushu University as an Associate Professor. He is concurrently a visiting researcher at AIST and a guest professor at Jiangsu University, China. His interests include laminar and turbulent flames, chemical kinetics, and emissions control.
