This lab  focuses on the development of a wide range of sensors that employ tunable diode lasers, quantum cascade lasers, gas lasers, and dye lasers. These diagnostics are designed to measure temperature, pressure, velocity, flux, and a variety of chemical species.  The resulting sensors can provide excellent sensitivity, high signal-to-noise ratio, and a range of spatial & temporal resolutions. 

A range of techniques are used to develop these sensors, including: Direct absorption (DA) spectroscopy, Wavelength modulation spectroscopy (WMS) with 2nd harmonic detection, Frequency modulation (FM) spectroscopy, Cavity ringdown spectroscopy (CRDS),Velocity modulation (VM) spectroscopy and Spectral emission measurements
